About James R Miller

James R Miller is an associate attorney of Day Rettig Martin, P.C.

James received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Program Certificate in Computer Science. After graduating from the UNI, James worked as a paralegal for several firms, working in property law, estate planning, and public finance.

James then attended the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was the President of the Equal Justice Foundation, Communications Director and Government Relations Director of the Graduate and Professional Student Government, and Co-Chair of the Iowa Law Chapter of the National Lawyers’ Guild. During his time in law school, James worked with the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, Department of Navy, Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, and Department of Labor, Office of Inspector General. James graduated with distinction from Iowa Law in 2025 and received the Boyd Service Award, highest honors.
