Lisa R. Stevens
Lisa R. Stevens is a 1991 graduate of Mt. Mercy College with a B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Psychology where she was a Presidential Scholar for three years. She has completed graduate classes at Drake University in Adult Education and Training.
Originally drawn to the legal profession because of its complex and challenging issues, Lisa worked for the Iowa Department of Corrections for seven years. During that time, she was at the forefront of studying and participating in the National Institute of Corrections’ cognitive behavior programs and helped to integrate this treatment approach into the Anamosa State Penitentiary’s treatment milieu.
Lisa understands the importance of assisting people in navigating through significant areas of their lives, whether it be in family law, labor and employment issues, or the probate process. By placing a high value on confidently and compassionately working with individuals, families and entities, her goal is to position clients in the strongest possible stance to move forward.
Outside of the office, you may find Lisa working with the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She also enjoys attending community theater, concerts, and the Great Jones County Fair. Lisa is married and has two adult daughters. The Stevens family enjoys boating on the Mississippi, it is their favorite activity. Lisa is also interested in history and is an avid reader.
